Write for yourself
And never stop. There’s no secret, here. No magical trick that will automatically make you a better writer. Only time and perseverance will make you improve, and if you’re willing to experiment, that helps, too.
Recognize people will not always like what you write. You can’t please everyone ever. If they offer constructive criticism, take it. Experiment with it, see if it works for you. If they don’t, and they just plain hate, ignore it.
Like Edgar Rice Burroughs said: “If you write one story, it might be bad; if you write a hundred, you have the odds in your favor.”
Just a little reminder to keep you going.
